Aloe Vera
Soothes, heals and promotes a healthy mouth.
Bean Wax
Made from non-GMO soybeans
Carrageenan
Derived from red seaweed, assists to keep all ingredients together in a smooth gel formula for easier application.
Chamomile Extract
Helps soothe gums and reduces irritation.
Chamomile Flower Oil
Contains the chemical compound chamazulene which makes it an excellent anti-inflammatory. It also has antibacterial properties and has been scientifically shown to be effective at reducing gum disease.
Citric Acid
Citric acid is found naturally in citrus fruits, especially lemons and limes. It’s what gives them their tart, sour taste. It’s used to preserve the product and as a disinfectant against viruses and bacteria.
Cocamidopropyl Betaine
Made from coconut oil, it helps toothpaste to foam.

A natural gentle abrasive that works to remove plaque & tartar from the teeth.
Glycerin
Sourced from vegetables, it's effective at moisturising the mouth and inhibiting bacteria growth. Contrary to internet myths, this ingredient does not coat the teeth or affect remineralization.
Lemon Peel Oil
A natural antiseptic, it helps to fight bacteria that cause tooth decay. This oil also has properties known to stimulate tissue formation and can support healthy gums.
Limonene
A naturally occurring compound found in the rind of citrus fruits.
Linalool
A naturally occurring compound found in some essential oils.
Myrrh Oil
Due to its antimicrobial properties, myrrh has traditionally been used to treat oral infections and inflammation.
Peppermint Oil
Adds a clean, refreshing taste and has the medicinal benefits of diminishing harmful bacterial growth inside the mouth, leaving breath smelling and feeling fresh.
Potassium Sorbate
Potassium sorbate is a salt of sorbic acid which is naturally found in some fruits (like the berries of mountain ash). It is used as a natural preservative.
Sodium Benzoate
A food-grade, biodegradable preservative made from the salt of benzoic acid to prevent yeast, mold, and fungus.
Sodium Bicarbonate
Also known as baking soda, naturally whitens and cleans your teeth by removing tough stains and unhealthy plaque.
Sorbitol
A naturally occurring sugar alcohol that acts as a moistener.
Spearmint Oil

Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate
Derived from sarcosine, a natural amino acid found in the human body and just about every type of biological material from animals to plants. Keeko’s sarcosine is made from coconut oil.
Cellulose Gum
Made from the structural parts of certain plants, primarily trees or cotton. It helps to thicken toothpaste.
Lauryl Glucoside
Made from coconut oil, this surfactant helps to properly disperse the ingredients, and ensure easy rinsing.
Hydrated Silica
Naturally derived from silica (silicon dioxide), an abundant compound that forms about 12% of the earth's surface. It is used as a mild abrasive to remove plaque and whiten teeth.

What's the deal with fluoride?
You’ve probably seen the word ‘fluoride’ splashed across toothpaste boxes on the supermarket shelves, and you even might think it’s essential for optimum oral health. Whilst fluoride has been shown to assist with strengthening enamel and reducing tooth decay, it has been scientifically linked to health issues.
At Keeko we use Hydroxyapatite, a natural calcium mineral that you find in your teeth and bones. It is clinically proven to strengthen enamel just like fluoride but without any potential health implications. More on that on our blog!
