Lemon Essential Oil

Cold pressed from the peel of lemons, lemon essential oil is a thin, greenish-yellow essential oil with a bright and refreshing scent. The powerful healing benefits of lemon essential oil were first discovered by the Greeks and Romans in the middle ages. The Greeks and Romans used lemon essential oil primarily as a cleanser for their skin and around their homes. Later, the British Navy harnessed the power of lemon essential oil to stave off the nasty effects of scurvy.

Lemon essential oil also has powerful properties when it comes to whitening your teeth. We’ve included this fabulous oil in our Keeko Oil product to amp up the results you’ll see when you try oil pulling. Lemon essential oil is naturally rich in limonene which is a powerful antiseptic that stops the spread of bacteria. In your mouth, limonene guards against nasty bacteria and prevents stains or cavities from developing. Lemon essential oil also prevents plaque from building up along your gum line and helps prevent gum disease in this way.

Lemon essential oil has also been shown to increase focus and concentration, keep salads and sliced fruit from turning an unappetising brown colour, boost your immune system, create natural looking highlights in your hair as well as helping to cleanse and detoxify your body.
